Smash! Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Kirby was doing what he did best. Eating. Whenever he ate normal food, he tried to actually chew so that he could savor it, but sometimes he didn’t have time, so he would just inhale it and swallow. Thankfully, he wasn’t doing anything, so the chocolate bar that he was eating was being eaten bite by bite. Kirby didn’t know how things could get better.

Kirby was suddenly in the shade. He didn’t notice at first since his eyes were closed as he enjoyed his chocolate. Kirby looked up and nearly jumped out of his skin. The Halberd was flying overhead. Kirby distinctly remembered destroying it in the sea. Obviously Meta Knight had been busy.

Kirby jumped up, inhaling the rest of his food, and ran for the nearest warp star. Dreamland was littered with the things, so Kirby never had to go far. Depending on whatever Dedede or whoever was up to, the local creatures would sometimes try and hamper Kirby in his progress, but today they scattered when they saw him coming as they didn’t want to be his next snack. That just meant that Meta Knight hadn’t got to them to tell them to attack him yet, and hopefully wouldn’t get the chance.

There was always the chance that Meta Knight wasn’t doing something devious. Ever since Kirby sank the Halberd Meta Knight had helped Kirby out with Dreamlands other problems, though that helping usually meant challenging Kirby to a duel to make sure that he was up to the challenge. Kirby still wasn’t sure what Meta Knights true intentions were, but he intended to find out.

Kirby got to the warp star without problem and hopped on. It sped towards the Halberd and crash-landed on the deck, making everyone on it jump in surprise. Instead of trying to fight him, they all ran off, shouting things like “Not again!” and “But we just fixed it!”

“I can’t say that I’m surprised to see you heroically show up Kirby,” Meta Knight said jumping down and landing next to Kirby. “After all, last time I piloted this ship, I didn’t exactly have the best of intentions.”

Kirby relaxed his stance, but stayed alert. “Kirby, I am not going to try anything this time, I was just travelling to meet with Dedede.”

Kirby glared at Meta Knight. “Ok, I admit, that doesn’t really help my case, but since Dedede at least claims to be the King, I felt that this issue needs to be discussed with him,” Meta Knight said.

Kirby gave a questioning look. “Do you not feel it Kirby? There is something wrong with the air, it feels like there is a charge in it, and not a good one,” Meta Knight said.

Kirby hadn’t noticed anything of the sort. He opened his mouth to taste the air, and everyone near scattered in fear except Meta Knight. Kirby inhaled a little, not so much that anyone else would get sucked in, though he was tempted to. Meta Knight was right, the air tasted funny. Kirby looked at him and nodded.

Not long later, the Halberd arrived at Mount Dedede. Dedede was waiting outside his castle, his mouth agape. The Halberd landed and Kirby and Meta Knight jumped out. Dedede didn’t know whether to run or greet them. He hadn’t done anything wrong lately, at least nothing that really stood out in his mind.

“Close your mouth, we’re not here to cause trouble, I am with Kirby after all,” Meta Knight said. “That is, unless you feel guilty.”

Dedede frowned at Meta Knight and puffed out his chest. “Yes yes, you’re the king, we get it, Kirby and I need to talk to you,” Meta Knight said.

Dedede folded his arms and looked at Meta Knight expectantly. “Kirby and I have noticed something wrong with the air, have you not noticed it yet?”

Dedede hadn’t noticed it, but he wasn’t about to admit that. Dedede put on his serious face, and let Kirby and Meta Knight into his castle, allowing them to go in before him. Once they were in, he tasted the air and found that there was indeed something wrong with it. Dedede hurriedly followed.

Meta Knight was about to speak again when there was a horrible crashing sound. It almost sounded like glass breaking. The strangest thing was that they could feel the crash more than hear it. The three of them ran outside to see what the matter was and saw a huge hole in the sky, just above the Halberd. The hole was sucking everything in sight into it, and that included the Halberd.

“My ship!” Meta Knight cried as he flew towards it. But as he got closer to it, he realized that he was caught in the powerful vacuum that the hole was creating. He tried to turn but was unable to change direction and was sucked into the hole along with his ship.

Kirby wanted to jump in and save Meta Knight, but Dedede held him back. Kirby struggled against Dedede’s grasp, but Dedede picked Kirby up and ran the other way. Kirby continued to struggle, turning back to look at the devastation that the hole was causing. He needed to stop it! Kirby glared at Dedede and kicked him. Dedede dropped Kirby and Kirby ran for the hole, but he didn’t know what to do about it. Kirby did the only thing he could think of, and started inhaling as strong as he could in the direction of the hole.

The air in between Kirby and the hole was being pulled in opposite directions. This created a vacuum in the area in between Kirby and the hole and stopped the hole from pulling anyone else in. Dedede finally caught up to Kirby, but he didn’t know what do to. He could see that this was only going to delay the inevitable. Kirby couldn’t inhale forever.

As he was thinking this, Kirby faltered. The hole gained the advantage and Kirby found him self being sucked in. Dedede grabbed him again, but it was no use, as he started getting sucked in as well. If Kirby was going to be sucked into this hole, he was going to go in fighting! Kirby kicked off of Dedede and went in headfirst, while Dedede tumbled in after him.

Smash! The Never Ending Brawl

So I've started a fanfic. Since fanfics never have a chance to be published its perfectly okay to post them here.

Smash! The Never Ending Brawl

Part 1

Chapter 1

The goomba couldn’t believe his luck. A had found a note detailing the plans for Mario and Luigi’s vacation away from the castle. It would be undefended, not counting the toads, but they’re all cowards anyway. He would get a promotion if he brought the princess to Bowser, he just knew he would.

The goomba was sneaking up to the castle through some tall grass. There she was, just sitting out in the open. It looked like she was waiting for something. It didn’t matter, as she was never going to get what she was waiting for. There were no plumbers or toads in sight, now was his chance. He charged and headed right for the princess.

The princess didn’t look surprised to see him. That was understandable, given the amount of times she’d been kidnapped. He was close enough now; no one was going to stop him. Suddenly, from nowhere, the princess pulled out a golf club and made as if to swing. This couldn’t end well.

Thwack!

“Good-a job Princess,” Mario said, coming out from his hiding place. “I knew you could-a do it.”

“That wasn’t so bad, but do you think it would be enough to stop Bowser?” Peach asked.

“Perhaps not stop him, but delay him until I get there. Wow, you really hit that guy far,” Mario said.

The last time Mario had saved Peach, Peach had requested that Mario teach her how to defend herself. Both of them were tired of her being kidnapped and him going off to rescue her. Mario thought that this was a great idea, even if he didn’t think that Peach was one who would enjoy the fighting. Peach had a custom dress made for her that would hide a frying pan, a gold club, and a tennis racket inside. Mario was surprised to find that Peach could float for a short time, both with her parasol and without. She also had suggested that her crown would make a good weapon if the situation got dire.

“I didn’t think that any of Bowser’s minions would fall for that note,” Peach said. “They aren’t very smart are they?”

“Not-a at all,” Mario said. “Most of them just mindlessly walk in one direction until they bump into something. Once I just took a step to the side and the thing cursed me as it walked by for being-a so devious.”

Up above on the roof, Luigi was on lookout. Bowser was not going to take them by surprise again under his watch. Nothing seemed suspicious in the skies at the moment, but that didn’t mean that Bowser wasn’t planning something. Bowser was always planning something. Earlier Luigi had spotted Wario a short distance off, but he just sat on a bench and took out his DS, probably to play his new game. Luigi could never tell with Wario what his intentions were, but he would treat everyone with suspicion until they proved their trust. So long as Wario stayed where he was, Luigi wouldn’t bother him, but if he moved any closer, Luigi would tell Mario. Mario would know better what to do with Wario, they knew each other better.

Luigi was looking through his binoculars at Wario, checking up on him again. Wario was playing his game and took a moment to pick his nose. Luigi was about to look away when Wario looked right at him. How did he know that Luigi was watching? Wario smiled his creepy grin and pointed up. Luigi looked up and nearly jumped out of his skin. Bowser’s warship was right there. Where had it come from, Luigi should have seen it coming.

“Maaaaaaaaarioooooooo!”

Mario looked up to the roof where Luigi was freaking out and turned to see the warship. How could it have gotten so close without anyone noticing? Usually all of the toads would be freaking out and running for the castle. Bowser must have cloaked it somehow.

“Get-a behind me Princess,” Mario said.

“No, I can help,” Peach said.

“Mario!” Bowser’s voice echoed from his ship. “Hand over the princess now!”

Mario sighed. “How many times must we go through this Bowser? Even if you somehow manage to take the princess, I’ll still rescue her!”

“This time is different Mario! I have a new ally!” Bowser said.

“How-a many times have-a you said that Bowser? You always insist that its-a different this time, and it-a always ends up the same,” Mario said.

“Ah ha ha ha!”

Mario recognized that laugh. He turned his attention from the warship and saw Wario rushing towards him on his motorcycle. Wario jumped off and let the bike run into the castle wall, landing before Mario.

“Wario, what are you doing? You’ve-a sided with Bowser?” Mario asked.

Wario shrugged and rubbed his fingers together. “He paid you to help him did he? He’ll-a double cross you Wario, you know he will,” Mario said.

Wario shrugged again and tackled Mario. Mario got out his cape and swiped it, turning Wario around. “Do you really want-a to do this?” Mario said.

Wario answered by swinging a punch. Mario dodged out of the way and called for Luigi. “Luigi! We-a need your help!”

Luigi was always a bit more difficult to motivate than Mario was. Luigi was perfectly okay with hiding on the roof shivering. “Luigi!” came the princess’s voice. Luigi still shivered.

“Bwa ha ha! That’s right, uh, green stache, quiver and quake, you’d only get in your brother’s way!” Bowser said from his warship.

Green stache? After all this time that oversized turtle still couldn’t remember his name? He could always remember Mario’s name. Luigi had been there since the beginning helping Mario, but Bowser still couldn’t remember his name?

Luigi jumped from his hiding place and higher onto the roof. Once he was high enough he crouched down and charged. He aimed himself at Bowser’s warship. Luigi liked this attack, but sometimes it backfired and he overshot. It was rare, but when it happened he went way farther than intended. It should be fine so long as he aimed well. Luigi released the energy, and instead of going just far enough to grab hold of the Warship’s rails, Luigi exploded and he shot past the warship and disappeared into the horizon.

Peach sighed as she saw Luigi fly off. At least he had tried to help. “Wonderful! Now nothing stands between you and me princess!” Bowser said.

Bowser jumped from his warship and landed with a thud near Peach. Peach tried backing away, but tripped over a vegetable. “Don’t try and resist Peach, you’re mine now!” Bowser said.

Peach remembered a dream she had had a long time ago. It was an odd dream, but since she had it, many things that were in it started appearing around mushroom kingdom, like bob-ombs and shy guys. Vegetables were a key part of her dream, key because they were used as weapons. Peach pulled the turnip from the ground and threw it at Bowser. Bowser hardly flinched. So much for her dream.

“Trying to fight me are you princess?” Bowser asked, sounding amused. “Go ahead, this should be fun.”

Mario started spinning in the air, and his spinning kick hit Wario. Wario landed a few feet away on his feet and motioned for Mario to come with his finger. Mario started running for Wario, but before Mario could do anything, Wario opened his mouth wide, and bit down on Mario. Mario found himself headfirst in Wario’s mouth. The sheer smell was enough to bring tears to his eyes, but then Wario started grinding his teeth.

Wario finally spit Mario out. “Wario, you never cease to disgust me,” Mario said.

Wario looked over to Bowser and Peach and was surprised by what he saw. Peach was holding her own. His instructions had been to stall Mario long enough for Bowser to capture the princess, and he had been told that this would take mere seconds. His job should have finished by now, blast it. Wario turned to look at Mario again and found Mario’s fist at his chin, following him up through the air. Wario lost a few coins the hit was so hard.

Bowser inched closer to Peach, and Peach continued to throw turnips at him. Oddly enough, the turnips had faces. Bowser pretended like it didn’t hurt, and it really didn’t all that much, but after being by enough of them he was starting to get a bump where they hit. Peach threw another, Bowser was tired of this, so he opened his mouth and flames erupted from it, reducing the turnip to ashes. “Just give up Princess, you can’t wi-”

Peach and taken advantage of Bowser’s distraction to float just above the ground in order to kick Bowser several times from above. She knew those hurt, her high heels were made out of tough stuff. Bowser hadn’t expected it, and so Peach continued her assault. After landing, she twisted and thrust her hip at Bowser. Bowser staggered back, still shocked. Peach ran at him and put her arms in front of her and pushed him to the ground.

Peach backed up as Bowser got up. “I see Mario has been busy teaching you a thing or two. I guess that I’ll have to try this time.”

Bowser’s claws were very sharp and Peach suddenly found them heading right for her. Bowser had never actually hurt her before, but then again, she had never given him a reason too. “Princess no!” A toad screamed, jumping in front of the princess.

Bowser’s claws hit the toad, and the toad released spores upon impact. Bowser staggered away, the spores getting in his eyes and mouth. The toad slumped to the ground. The Princess tried to help it, she was good at healing things, but before she had a chance Bowser had recovered. “A brave fool, but now I’m taking you princ-”

Bowser was interrupted by a several kicks to his back. He turned and saw a Yoshi facing him, looking ready to fight. Bowser laughed out loud. “A yoshi? Is this your last line of defense Mario?”

The yoshi answered by throwing an egg at Bowser’s face, which exploded on impact. The yoshi then turned itself into a very large egg and collided with Bowser, knocking him down. The yoshi turned its egg and ran over Bowser again, and then again. Bowser got up and threw his whole weight into the egg, using his skull as the contact point, and smashed the egg, exposing the yoshi. The yoshi didn’t stop though as Bowser hoped and jumped to the air above Bowser and came crashing down.

Bowser had had enough. He charged at the yoshi, but something made him stop. There as something wrong with the air. Everyone else noticed as well. All fighting stopped and everyone looked around, seeking what it was that had disturbed them.

The very air rippled. Mario felt his chest go tight as the ripple passed through him. Mario looked to the sky where it seemed like the ripple had come from. More ripples were coming from a central point up in the air. It looked like a pond that had a steady drip hitting it. Then it cracked. There was an earth shattering sound like glass breaking and cracks replaced the ripples in the sky. The sky then broke away, being sucked into the hole that appeared. The hole in the sky started sucking everyone in. Peach was the first to leave the ground, followed by Mario and Wario. The yoshi had its tongue on the ground, holding it in place, but eventually its tongue gave out and the yoshi flew into the whole. Bowser, the heaviest of those present was clutching the ground, not willing to give in. Finally the ground that he was holding broke away and he was sucked into the hole.

So here it is. It probably has a bunch of typos as I've not had an opportunity to edit yet. Any requests for the next series represented?
